With a predominantly ageing population in the Ringlestone area St Faiths Church became aware of the increasing need for local amenities. Additionally, the Church also realised that within (say) fifteen years, this population would change to be significantly younger and that any proposed development must to be able to meet those perceived future needs.

The proposal is considered to enhance the established character and appearance of the surrounding area, respecting the amenity of neighbouring occupiers and ensuring highway safety through reuse of the existing, enlarged, entrance to the site. The scheme maintains the sylvan nature of the site promoting a sustainable environment with a strong sense of place, promoting a traditional vernacular whilst providing a contemporary facility using energy efficient construction techniques and incorporating renewable technology.
